The two things that make a soft pant read as sleepwear are a shiny surface and a shapeless bell leg. This has a matte, faintly textured finish and a straight column from the hip. Tuck a fitted top in at the waistband and it reads as a trouser.
They soften and relax rather than crease sharply. Pure linen holds a fold like a memory; this blend doesn't. Expect light movement lines behind the knee after sitting, gone within a few minutes of walking. A cool iron on the reverse takes thirty seconds if you want them pin-flat.
